The Faculty Assistance Center for Technology, or FACT Lab, is a service at the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. We work with faculty at the college to develop strategies to leverage technology for teaching, research, and service. With all the new tools that seem to be invented every day in the tech industry, we think about how we can best use these tools for teaching in K-12 and higher ed. We also explore how new apps, gadgets, and tech can illuminate new ways of seeing and collecting data in research.

We conduct regular workshops and professional development seminars that discuss the intersection of technology, teaching, and research. We also publish documents and videos about leveraging technology for teaching and learning. Our facilitators, who are educational technologists, are also available for one-on-one strategy sessions for faculty interested in thinking about technology and how it can be used to align with pedagogical goals.
